Euan Burton grew up in East Kilbride, Scotland where he took up Bass Guitar at the age of 10. After being introduced to Jazz in his teens Euan switched to Double Bass and went on to study at Birmingham Conservatoire receiving the Jazz Course Prize while in his second year and graduating with a Bmus Jazz (Hons). He has studied with many fantastic musicians including bassists Dave Holland and Ed Howard, Trumpeter Dave Douglas, and Drummer Ari Hoenig.

After graduating, Euan returned to Scotland where he has become an active part of the scene both as a sideman and leader. Through his organization "Wee Jazz Promotions" he has worked to improve the Glasgow scene by setting up regular gigs, such as Glasgow's now famous Sunday night "Jazz At The 78", and bringing International groups over to play.

He has performed with (Skip the next paragraph if you don't like long lists that don't mean much) Ari Hoenig, Gilad Hekselman, Will Vinson, Tom Gibbs, Doug Hough, Adam Jackson, Mark McKnight, Sam Yahel, Mark Ferber, Benny Lackner, Julian Arguelles, Paul Harrison, David Berkman, Colin Steele, Ryan Quigley, Tom MacNiven, John Randall, Mark Nightingale, Konrad Wiszniewski, Alyn Cosker, Steve Hamilton, Martin Kershaw, Brian Kellock, Nigel Hitchcock, Richard Turner, Josh Morrison, Bobby Previte, Fraser Fifield, Victoria Fifield, Graeme Stephen, Cathie Rae, Brian Molley, Stu Brown, Mike Fletcher, David Lyttle, Alison Burns, Jaqui Dankworth, Andrew Bain, Ulf Wakenius, Tom Gordon, Phil Bancroft and Tom Bancroft to name just a few.

He performs and tours with many groups such as the Mark McKnight Group, Victoria Fifield's Devotion, The Royal Scottish National Orchestra Big Band, Konrad Wiszniewski Quartet, Colin Steele Quintet, Cathie Rae Band, Alison Burns and Ari Hoenig Trio. Euan also is a member of Rock/Pop/Indie (You know that other kind of music that isn't jazz) group The Northern Appointment.

He has performed across the U.K. and Ireland at all the major Jazz festivals and venues and also Internationally (If you want another long list email). As both a performer and contributer, Euan appears regularly on BBC Radio Scotland's "Jazz House". As an educator he has a small group of dedicated students and performs workshops around the country along with tutoring and running workshops with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Scotland.

An accomplished composer Euan has released one album of his compositions and has another one, recorded early 2008, with Ari Hoenig, Gilad Hekselman, Martin Kershaw and Tom Gibbs to follow soon. He appears on the forthcoming release from Victoria Fifield's Devotion entitled "Wanderlust" and on Guitarist Mark McKnight's debut album recorded in New York with Will Vinson, Sam Yahel and Mark Ferber.
